SkyBrief ("the App") is a worldwide aviation intelligence platform developed by AnqaCode. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information.

Data We Collect

    SkyBrief does not collect personally identifiable information (PII). We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or any account registration.
  

Local Data Storage

The App stores the following data locally on your device only:

Calculation history (last 50 entries)
Favorite airports (up to 10)
Theme preference (light/dark)
Onboarding completion status
Daily usage counters (for free tier limits)
Premium subscription status
Cached NOTAM explanations
Rate prompt preferences

This data is stored using SharedPreferences and never transmitted to any server.

Third-Party Services

The App integrates the following third-party services:

Network Requests

The App makes network requests to:

aviationweather.gov — to fetch live METAR weather data and TAF forecasts for airports
FAA NOTAM API — to retrieve active NOTAMs for airports and FIRs
Google Generative AI — to explain NOTAMs in plain language (sent: NOTAM text only)
Firebase — to send anonymous analytics events and crash reports

No personal information is included in any of these requests.

Location Data

The App may request location permission to center the weather map on your position. Location data is used on-device only and is never transmitted to any server or stored persistently.

In-App Purchases

Premium subscriptions (Pilot and Pro tiers) are processed entirely through Google Play. We do not have access to your payment information. Subscription management is handled through the Google Play Store app on your device.

Advertising

SkyBrief does not display any advertisements and does not use advertising SDKs.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The App contains no age-restricted content and is designed for aviation professionals and enthusiasts of all ages.

Data Retention & Deletion

All local data can be deleted by clearing the App's data in your device settings or uninstalling the App. Anonymous analytics data is retained by Firebase according to Google's data retention policies.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Delete all local data by clearing app storage or uninstalling
Opt out of analytics by disabling usage data sharing in device settings
Request information about data processing by contacting us

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the App and on this page with an updated effective date.
